Save Water in the Kitchen
A large part of the water we consume at home comes from the water we use in the kitchen. Making small changes in our water usage in the kitchen can lead to using water efficiently and, consequently, lower bills.
Soaking dirty dishes in a basin of water to soften the dirt before loading them into the dishwasher or washing them will result in using less water. Washing your dirty dishes directly under running water will cause you to use too much water.
Take Action if Your Faucet is Dripping
You can purchase special low-flow faucets. Thanks to faucets that are not very expensive, you can save water usage by half. Also, try to take action if the faucet you are using is leaking or dripping.
A significant amount of water is also spent washing vegetables and fruits. Therefore, instead of washing vegetables and fruits under the tap, wash your fruits thoroughly in a basin and then quickly rinse them under running water.
Rinsing dishes under a running faucet also causes a significant water loss. After removing the dirt from the dishes, wash them in a basin filled with soapy water and then quickly rinse them in the rinse water.
